Recently, our team had the privilege of visiting a women’s correctional facility in Kenya. This mission was part of our ongoing outreach to uplift and support vulnerable women in incarceration—many of whom are mothers, survivors of abuse, or struggling with social stigma.
The visit was both emotional and empowering. We shared words of encouragement, prayed together, and distributed care packages that included essential hygiene items, sanitary products, foodstuffs, and educational materials. More importantly, we listened to the women’s stories—stories filled with regret, resilience, and a longing for a second chance.
These women reminded us that restoration is possible, even behind bars. Many of them expressed deep gratitude for simply being seen and heard. For them, this was more than a visit—it was a message that they are not forgotten.
We were especially moved by one inmate’s words:
“Today, I felt human again. Thank you for coming.”
The Power of Human Dignity
The experience was a powerful reminder that dignity is not lost in detention. With support, guidance, and compassion, these women can rebuild their lives, reconnect with their families, and even inspire others.
As part of our commitment to restorative justice and reintegration, we’re now planning follow-up programs including:
- Skill-building workshops (crafts, tailoring, literacy)
- Mental health and trauma healing sessions
- Post-release reintegration support
